The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) has rejected an emergency request by the Biden regime to stop Texas from enforcing a new illegal immigration law.
In a 6-3 ruling, the highest court in the land decided that Texas police can legally arrest illegal migrants as they attempt to cross the border from Mexico into the U.S. despite it being challenged in the lower courts.
The Department of Justice (DoJ) tried to sue Texas over the law, only to have SCOTUS rule that the law will stand. Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, welcomed the ruling, calling it a “clearly positive development.”
At the same time, the battle between Texas and the Biden regime is far from over. Texas and other right-leaning states are all upset that the Biden regime refuses to enforce federal immigration laws, which is why some of these states now want to do it themselves.
You will recall that Texas authorities erected barbed wire and other barriers at its southern border with Mexico to try to stop the influx. Biden challenged that, too, only to have Texas defy that challenge citing constitutional breaches by the White House.

Known as SB4, the new Texas law will enable state and local law enforcement to arrest migrants who illegally enter the U.S. It will also allow Texas judges to order the deportation of illegal migrants.
The Biden regime continues to argue that only the federal government has jurisdiction over border security, meaning Texas is beholden to whatever the White House decides to do or not do.
“We fundamentally disagree with the Supreme Court’s order allowing Texas’ harmful and unconstitutional law to go into effect,” said White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre in a statement.
“SB 4 will not only make communities in Texas less safe, it will also burden law enforcement and sow chaos and confusion at our southern border.”
As you might expect, the Supreme Court ruling was divided along partisan lines. The six judges who were appointed by Republican presidents sided with Texas while the three who were appointed by Democrat presidents sided with the Biden regime.
“The court gives a green light to a law that will upend the longstanding federal-state balance of power and sow chaos,” commented Justice Sonia Sotomayor in a dissenting opinion about the ruling.
The chaos Sotomayor and other critics speak of, though, is only being amplified by the Biden regime as its open borders policies wreak havoc across the land. Because the Biden regime will not enforce federal immigration law, illegals are flooding American communities by the millions year after year, which is fundamentally changing the demographic landscape of the nation.
America’s inner cities are also facing a heavy barrage of illegals as Texas and other states bus them in from the south. Cities like New York City, Chicago and Denver are bending under the weight of all this influx pressure to the point that some of them could eventually collapse.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams has been complaining loudly about all these bussed-in migrants, stating that they are threatening to “destroy” America’s largest and perhaps most well-known and well-visited city.
“Where is the fence?” asked one commenter, referring to the “wall” that former President Trump constantly spoke of while campaigning and serving. “Trump and the Republicans had four years to finish it – what happened?”
“The Democrat appointed judge is wrong,” wrote another about Sotomayor’s dissenting opinion.
“It is the policy of Biden regime which has overridden the legitimate security needs of the United States by encouraging and enabling illegal immigration across the Texan border with Mexico. The chaos sowed is wholly at the hands of the Democrats.”
